Costume Contest SFMOMA October 2011

Joshua and I went with my friend Ben Carlson to a Halloween party at SF MOMA. Ann Magnuson performed a series of rocking and hilarious musical sets, and there was a costume contest. You could see that everyone who was there felt really charged and connected to the messages of Ann’s personas. Joshua and I wore silicone masks that a man in New Zealand makes by hand. Fun! The photography team shooting for the contest were really warm and interested in taking a good photo for each participant. The Australian guy who won the contest really earned it – he looked sexy and surreal in a giant Rococo hat he’d made, that lit up with fairy lights.
